The people's car coming to India
After years of secret preparation, the world's cheapest car will be unveiled in Delhi this week - delighting millions of Indians as much as it is horrifying environmentalists.
At 100,000 rupees (£1,290), the People's Car, designed and manufactured by Tata, is being marketed as a safer way of travelling for those who until now have had to transport their families balanced on the back of their motorbikes.

Honda set to go retro in '09 with CB1100F?
Filed under: Time Warp, Japan, Tokyo Motor Show, Motorcycles

Click the pic above for more high-res images.
Retro is fast becoming an accepted design theme industry-wide with vehicles such as the New Beetle, Mini Cooper and Fiat 500 shining as examples of the genre. The same can be said of motorcycles, with such designs as the Ducati SportClassic range as well as half of Triumph's line acting as flag-bearers. Harley could be grouped into that category as well, although they've never really changed since... well, the beginning of time. Anyway, Honda is considering capitalizing on the market trend with a new design inspired by the ground-breaking CB's of the 1970's. When it was first introduced, the CB750 turned the motorcycle world upside-down and went a long way towards making the sporty English bikes of the day obsolete overnight. As an odd turn of events, though, the CB1100F seen above would be anything but revolutionary in the sporting bike game today, considering that the air-cooled engine, skinny "right-side-up" fork and dual shocks are carry-over pieces from the original design. Of course, that's why it looks retro and why many people would likely run to their nearest Honda dealership to place their orders.

LEGO Indiana Jones Set Collection Whips Us Into a Frenzy [Lego]
Just when I was looking for the
completion of the target="_blank" href="http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/lego-millennium-falcon,-the-video-teaser/the-construction-of-the-lego-millennium-falcon-part-i-the-unboxing-and-the-licking-335036.php">
LEGO Millennium Falcon, I got sidetracked by another Harrison
Ford minifig, this time with a fedora and a whip: these LEGO
Indiana Jones sets are not target="_blank" href="http://gizmodo.com/335673/sorting-the-5195-pieces-of-the-millennium-falcon-gives-strange-pleasure-back-pain">
as massive as the 5,195 pieces of the Falcon, but all together
they are begging for some silly playing and block whipping. The
four sets cover all the (good) movies:
There are five models, from Raiders and Last Crusade, each with their own charm:
• The Indiana Jones and the Lost Tomb set shows the Well of Souls complete with the Ark of the Covenant. Sadly, there's no Marion or Sallah or snakes. Asps. Very dangerous. You go first. For $19.99 you can't ask for more.
• Race for the Stolen Treasure includes the car and truck from Raider's road chase. Also a low price, and not a lot of complexity: $29.99.
• Temple Escape is the best one of the lot and sightly more complex. $59.99 to reproduce the gold idol temple from the beginning of Raiders, even with a mini-Alfred Molina. While all the rest are available now, the Temple will ship in February.
• Indiana Jones Motorcycle Chase gives you all the elements to reproduce the joust in the Last Crusade. And even while it's the cheapest set, at $9.99, the included Henry Jones minifig makes it priceless.
According to our sources, new set will be arriving this year to celebrate the release Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Scrul, the fourth part of the movie (no, we can't wait either.) And if that fails, I will be doing a fifth one called Indiana Jones and the Maze of the Millennium Falcons. [LEGO]
